Spotlight: Jaran and Deborah

Jaran and I have been very happily married for five and a half years. We are truly best friends and we just love spending time together. We met through a friend in college, and we knew it was love when we spent our entire first date laughing out loud at anything and everything ;). Since being married we have added one member to our family, named Spikelynn. She is our two year old boxer puppy.

Adoption has been something we have wanted for our family since we were engaged. When we were having trouble getting pregnant we jumped right into the adoption process. We believe it is truly love that makes a family, not genetics.

Jaran is an outgoing and friendly guy. He is nice to everyone he meets and just loves to crack a corny joke or two in order to make someone smile. Jaran is smart and inquisitive; he just loves to find answers to any question that comes his way. He enjoys rock climbing, motorcycle riding, building/fixing things and anything finance; hence his work in investments.

Deborah is outgoing and enjoys dancing, singing, making crafts, discussing politics, taking care of animals and watching movies.  Although Deborah doesn't have one hobby that she is passionate about, she loves trying new things and is generally enthusiastic about life. She is not a perfectionist by any means, which equates to a laid-back, stress-free family life, but also means that "do it yourself" projects might not come out as cute as a perfectionist's project might.

Together we enjoy many things: Taking Spikelynn for walks, hanging out with family and friends, hiking, rock climbing, karaoke, Cold Stone ice cream, Wii dancing, rollerblading, snowboarding, motorcycle riding, sushi, cupcakes, sunsets, BBQs, game nights, road trips, mountains, music, scrap booking, taking pictures, sports, M&Ms, movies, popcorn, soda, late night del taco runs, sleeping in, reading, painting, going to church, and the list can go on and on.

Basically, we just love being together and we can't wait to add children to our happy family!
